CCRM is located in Toronto’s Discovery District, which places us right in the middle of Canada’s largest concentration of regenerative medicine and stem cell scientists. Two thirds of our founding core institutional partners are located in Toronto, and many of the technologies we are developing for commercialization have been developed here. Many of our employees were educated in regenerative medicine in Toronto’s academic labs, and our Lead Scientists and Founders Advisory Board benefits from having many of the world’s leaders in regenerative medicine located here.

Our model is centred around creating, maintaining and growing collaborations with academics, industry, and the government. We work very closely with researchers at the University of Toronto and Toronto’s hospitals to develop and commercialize stem cell-  and biomaterials-based products and technologies, and recently co-founded the Ontario Institute for Regenerative Medicine (OIRM) with funding from the Government of Ontario to further strengthen collaborative efforts.

We are the commercialization partner of OIRM and the University of Toronto’s Medicine by Design initiative, and collaborate with the MaRS Discovery District, MaRS Innovation and the Ted Rogers Centre of Excellence in Heart Function.

Toronto is Canada’s financial and life sciences powerhouse, home to world-renowned universities, hospitals and research centres. Being headquartered here provides us with an incredible pool of home-grown talent while helping us attract the best potential employees from around the world. Toronto’s expertise in regenerative medicine and stem cells is world-class. Being in Toronto with its remarkable infrastructure, reputation and global connectedness makes it easy to connect with partners, funding, and opportunities from across Canada and around the world.

We believe Toronto will become the world’s premier destination for regenerative medicine companies to invest, grow, and conduct clinical trials. We are committed to increasing and supporting investment, entrepreneurship, and commercialization of regenerative medicine in Ontario, and are building strategic partnerships with large multinational companies to meet this goal. We have built a translation centre that is incubating multiple companies and will be launching several of these in the near future. CCRM looks forward to becoming the world’s first sustainable regenerative medicine commercialization centre.
